Instead of being a shining example for the Anglican Communion and the rest of the christian community - the HoB cowers under the threat of the bullies. I don't think Jesus would be proud.
Not only that - the bullies weren't even satisified; they left early to return to based camp PA. To re-stradegize how to bring about their ultimate goal of schism.

As the green and blue blog will affirm, I'm in agreement with you: politics trumped prophecy. And we're not even talking about appeasing the Communion: we're obviously talking about appeasing the likes of Lillibridge, et. al.
In my rants, I've been using the usual buzzwords, e.g., "homophobia" and "heterosexism," but I like the one that has been surfacing in the other rants I read: "apartheid." It nails it: you're welcome, come join us, we'll take your pledges, we'll take your service, but please, please, please, please, please - sit in the back.
You know the argument I hate the most? "Let's get back to the REAL mission of the church..." Look, I am the least multi-tasking individual I know, but I believe I can handle full inclusion AND taking on "the least of these" as well. Besides, we're a long way from banishing poverty; full inclusion could have taken place in one fell swoop at GC2006.

JS, I too think this was a letdown. They didn't close the door but they gave way too many concessions and the Primates didn't appreciate us. To them I think our backing off made us look weak.
I'm glad we talked yesterday. I hope you are getting lots of rest and feel better quicker than quick. Being sick is no fun.
